Introduction:
Indian culture had some rules about pregnant women, how to take care of pregnant women, spiritual things that can be performed by the pregnant woman, and what to do during pregnancy to have an intelligent baby or boy, traditionally, tips for normal delivery, things what to follow are discussed as below.
Some spiritual rules are provided by our Indian Ancestor's when the woman got pregnant, she had to read good books, should take good diet, and being with good feelings, should not listen to bad words, not quarrel with anybody, etc.,

Indian Spirituality Rules to be followed by Pregnant women:
In our Indian beliefs & traditions, there are a few mantras to the pregnant woman well being and for the newborn baby's health.
1. Mantra:
namosthu amrutharuupaaya sarvaushadhi nrupaayacha|Yagnalokaadhipatheye Somaya paramathmane||
This mantra is to chant daily by the pregnant women either in a sitting position on dharbaasna or if not possible by sitting on the chair.
When she completes her 5th, 7th, or 9th month of pregnancy, Seemantham /valikaappu is conducted by the family members, it is a custom and tradition of Indian culture and belief. This mantra has to be said by the husband on that Auspicious occasion.
This mantra belongs to the moon. Chanting the moon regularly will give amruthaswaroop Santana like the moon with cool, intelligent, clever, and good health.
2. Mantra:
sathugarbho' mahaatejaa gaangeyaha pavakodbhavaha|divyamsaravanam praapyavavrudhey adbhutha darsanaha||
This mantra belongs to Kumarasambhava, in Anusaasanika parvam. The purpose of the mantra is to give absolute health to pregnant women. If any mistake has been done unintentionally or coincidentally in Ahar (diet), and Vihar(recreation time or stepping out to other places) niyama's, such effect cannot reach the baby. The women will have satsantana, healthier and safe delivery for a child.
Chanting this mantra 108 times will give good results, if not possible chant at least 27 times in the worship/prayer time. Try to prefer to be in positive thoughts.
As per our Vedic culture, there are many mantras to be followed for wellbeing, safe and free delivery. Regular poojas at home are allowed and not good for yagna's, Yaga's other solemn vows, and special poojas.
After reaching the seventh month the baby is fully formed with panchendriya's, which means she is ready to give birth, so in this time women should not be allowed to do weighted works, going on stairs.
Generally, maximum temples are at height, reaching such heights on foot can affect the womb, the atmospheric pressure on such heights can lead to miscarriage, so pregnant women can't go for temple visits.
Breastmilk is very natural for every pregnant woman, some tips are followed by our ancestors.
Tips to produce milk in an organic way:
Food that produces heat.
Taking garlic can improve the milk very fastly.
Take 6or 7 garlic cloves and a small cup of milk, and make boil for a few minutes and eat, this will help to give milk in one hour.
Tindora is good.
Fried wheat with ghee and boiled in milk can give milk in an hour.
Feeding breastmilk is very healthy for the born baby because breast milk consists of required proteins and minerals for the baby's growth.
Lalitha sahasranamam tells about the food habits from the first month of pregnant women. starting from:
amrutadi mahashakti sanvruta dakinishvari|| to
svahasvadha mati rmedha shrutih smrutiranuttama||
There is a list to eat in starting 1st month to 8th month.
so try to read Lalitha sahasranam.
Rules to be followed by the pregnant women husband:
As per the culture, in the previous days, the husband does not shave, haircut and strictly followed the food rules.
He is not allowed to do solemn vows, special pooja's after pregnant women reach the seventh month.
He should not go for Tirtha Pilgrim, do not perform yagna's, Yaga's, he should not do Archana's in the temple on the name of the pregnant women. Following these rules by the husband will give moral support to his wife.
Don'ts:
Don't sleep on your back it can lead to low blood pressure.
Dont's be get overstress it can harm you.
Hypertension can lead to serious problems and can be managed with careful monitoring by your nurse or by your doctor to become women healthy.
Don't sleep on the stomach, because it is time to increasing the size of the breast and abdomen.
Avoid coffee, tea, smoking, drinking, and taking drugs. Avoid acetic and junk foods to reduce acidity.
Do's:
Eat green leafy vegetables, blueberries, eggs, almonds, cheese, beans, and milk, take pineapple, grapes, tamarind, papaya, custard apple, and apples for healthier babies. Take high protein foods.
Listen to nice stories, do meditation, read books, practice yoga.
Take a good sleep, sleeping on your left is good and recommended, keep the pillows in between the bent knees. Take a warm water bath and wearing cotton and loose-fitting clothes for a good sleep.
Nutrition in pregnancy is too much important to ensure the healthy growth of the baby. women need counseling to discuss health issues in the period of pregnancy. Practicing good hygiene in the kitchen and bathroom can reduce health issues. weight gain takes place during the third trimester, it is the most weight gain throughout the pregnancy.
Regular practicing exercise during this time can appear to improve physical fitness, it may decrease the need for a C-section. Women can make physical relationship if she is healthy, but before that consult a doctor.
Eat and Drink with a strategy, improve your hygiene in the sleep, try to be with Healthy Breathing, avoid sleeping aids.
Finally:
In our Indian Cultures, pregnant women have a good and special status in society and receive gentle care.
